agree 100%- he looked a different class in the games versus us, and scored goals that we dont often see.

Lets hope his pal Fletcher can emulate him!

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
Thought he was decent against us in the cup reply but I'm not convinced by him. Think some of the way praise is way OTT - no where near in the same league as Owen & Rooney at a similar age.

I doubt he'll start much this season, will be mainly used in the Europa games IMO. Don't think he'll get a look-in under BFS either - a few cameos on the wing at a push.

Vexed, you do make me laugh. You must be on a wind up with your complete lack of football knowledge being shown up time and again.

I calling you out as one of Polites "funny" characters.

When he scored that goal against us last season. I think he cut inside and placed it the top corner.

I was gutted, because I knew he was the real deal then. Doesn't matter how old he is, he is already better than most of our senior strikers.

It's the same feeling I got when Rooney scored for Everton against Arsenal. You just knew he was proper.

I do wonder whether Man U under Mouhrinho is going to help him now. He needs to start games and if you have Ibra and a manager who pretty much never plays 2 strikers I feel he's at the wrong club. (then again does anyone play 2 up front anymore?)

What did he say? Did he even pick up?

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
Called Rashford when i saw him both FA cup games last season. Kid is absolute class, his movement is the same as the top strikers that have been playing in the prem for years. He has blistering pace, can beat a man with ease and can finish. Should be in the senior squad as at the moment he is the best English striker

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
Against Iceland Rashford was the only England player that looked like a professional footballer.
He is still in his honeymoon period but I still think he looks a major prospect.
One of the few strikers that has managed to play his proper position and still done a job when asked to play wide in a front three.
Has that knack of knowing where to be and finishes efficiently .... haven't seen the figures but have the impression his goals to shots ratio is VERY high.

Kane does seem one of those players that can go from donkey to thoroughbred within a game.
When you saw him a couple of years ago there is no way you would have predicted his rise. He looked like a white CFC.
Fair play to him the word is that he worked tirelessly at improving the weaknesses in his game.

Agree with that. He's a complete paradox for me. I can't see past the bloke that went on loan all over the place and against whom we played in the Championship when he was at Millwall - and was shit - yet in terms of English strikers his record is, literally, second to none.

I'll keep calling him useless in the hope that his stats catch up with my appraisal

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
Michael Owen was a raw unfinished striker when he burst onto the scene.

No better place to learn than against the best defenders.

Rashford looked miles out of his depth for the England senior side, really noticeable. Hardy is the answer for now, not this kid yet if ever.

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
Very one-footed IMO, has a lot to learn still. He is having a good spell but is a prospect and not the finished article.
Harry Kane is off form but showed last year he has the mental strength to get back on the scoring trail. I thought he would be a one season wonder. All top strikers have off spells. For me Kane has the best all round game when he is at his best.

Rashford will get limited time at Man Utd as they chase the league title. I'm not a fan of rushing players. Too many seem to end up crocks by the age of 23/24. Their bodies are put under too much stress whilst they are still growing.
Be interesting to see where he is in a season or two.

Freely admit I don't get Kane. Every time I've seen him play I just think he's bang average at absolutely everything he does.

and then you see his scoring record so I must be missing something, but I just can't see it. I think he's shit.

so he's just like every other striker in the world then?

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
Seems to be coming clear that Kane is far too up and down and streaky with his form to be a top international striker. When he's on a hot run and scoring a load, it's clear he should be in, but he goes on long periods when he can't score and looks fucking shit.

Can't be relying on that for an international player.

TBH I'd look at starting Rashford sooner rather than later for England if he carries on for another 6 months like he has been for the last. He seems a more complete player- or at least has the potential to be.

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
It was a good idea to give RASHFORD a game but he will be an alternative to KANE in the squad sooner rather than later.
Englands WC performance in 2018 will be dependent on what Sam does over the qualifiers .... is he moving the team on or will he be happy to plod along with the same old faces?

Rooney with a rethatched head doesn't count as a new face.

Re: Marcus Rashford. The real deal.
Fletcher has more caps for the u-20s than Rashford, but hasn't been picked for the u-21s yet, even though he is nearly two years older.
I think it's safe to say after last night's debut hat trick Rashford is well ahead of Norman Stanley at the moment in international selection thinking. He's taken his chances for Man U brilliantly, how he can be ignored by the walrus for much longer is beyond me.He looks far more confident in his general play than H Kane even at his point in his career.
Fletcher will just have to be patient and grab any chances Bilic gives him at West Ham.
